The beauty of a timber floor is that it will last for years, but when the surface shows signs of wear in high usage areas A1 Flooring can get that smooth shine back. Give us a call to discuss a buff & coat service.

Moisture problem solving and dehumidifying
Excess moisture from underneath your house or leaks can ruin your timber floor. If you notice a change in the way that you floor looks and you think that this is due to a water leak contact us asap so that we can take the necessary actions to save your timber floor before greater damage occurs.
Floor sanding and polishing
We recommend finishes with exceptionally low Volatile Organic Compound (VOC) which makes them the best choice with regard to health and minimizing the effects on the environment.
A1 Flooring has over 15 different finishing products available for use including low odour, water based polyurethane finishes which are UV resistant and non-yellowing to retain a natural look. Or we have solvent, oil or resin based finishes. After looking at your timber Gus will provide a recommendation as to which finish is most suited to for your timber based on the species, the traffic in the area and your budget.
We recommend Bona
"Gus has completed somewhere between 12 to 15 projects for me over the years of which there has been a mixture of new floors and old farm house renovations and I have not had one compliant. He definitely knows about his timber and has always done a great job."

Gusztav (Gus) Buru
Gus—the owner of A1 Flooring—has been in the business for more than 20 years. Once you get him talking about his craft it becomes obvious that he not only takes great pride in his work but is also highly knowledgeable about all aspects of his industry. Gus' passion for flooring came from his teachers. And he puts this passion into every floor he installs or maintains.
"I started learning my craft in 1984 in Hungary, where I had a five year apprenticeship with very good teachers. Their priority was on quality rather than profit and their main goal was to teach me how to install, sand and finish new parquetry and floors along with quality skills so that I could be trusted to sand and properly finish 200-300 year old heritage floors in Hungarian Castles, Palaces and Mansions. Not everyone gets that experience in a life time."
More than sixteen years of his experience has been in the Australian timber flooring trade. Being a perfectionist, Gus is constantly updating his machinery and coating systems to keep abreast of the latest technology and ensure that his customers will always have exceptional floors.
Gus was the first to bring the consistent use of European finishes in the Mid North Coast. He reccomends the use of European finishing products as the European quality (health and safety standards) for these materials are higher than in Australia.
